Cotokim in your AI assistant

In shortCotokim has a connector for AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude: you ask in the chat, and the assistant uses Cotokim's math to build your baby essentials list based on your city's weather, count diapers and answer questions about sizes, clothes and the hospital bag. There is no account or sign-in, and Cotokim stores nothing the assistant sends.

What the connector does

The connector brings the math behind cotokim.com into your chat with your AI assistant, so you never leave the conversation. With it, your assistant can:

  • build your baby essentials list for your city and due month: how many pieces of each size to have, based on the typical weather in the months your baby will wear each size, split into what to have ready for the birth, what your baby uses up to six months, and what comes later;
  • show your city's typical weather, month by month, with the source of the data;
  • count diapers in each size up to six months, and how many to have at home before the birth, in packs, including twins and triplets;
  • tell you how to dress your baby for the room temperature, during the day and for sleep, with what to check and what to avoid;
  • find the clothing size by age, or by weight and length, on Carter's official size chart;
  • list what to pack in the hospital bag for your baby, plus the rear-facing car seat for the ride home;
  • give you the link to the printable list, which opens on cotokim.com.

The math changes a little with the exact due date, so each amount comes with the range for the month and the most common number. In ChatGPT and Claude, the list can show up as a card with checkboxes. What you check stays on that screen only: nothing is saved.

How to add it

The connector address is https://cotokim.com/mcp. You need no account, sign-in or key.

ChatGPT

If Cotokim is already in ChatGPT's plugin directory, search for "Cotokim" and connect it. Until then, if your account has ChatGPT's developer mode, you can add Cotokim by hand: in the settings, where apps or plugins are, create a custom MCP server with the address https://cotokim.com/mcp and choose the option with no authentication.

Claude

If Cotokim is already in Claude's connector directory, search for it and connect it. If it is not, go to Settings, open Connectors, choose to add a custom connector and paste https://cotokim.com/mcp. There is no sign-in. Then make sure Cotokim is turned on in the chat, in the tools menu.

Other assistants

Assistants and apps that accept a remote MCP server use the same address, with no authentication.

Menu names change over time. If you can't find it, look for connectors, plugins or apps in your assistant's settings.

For developers. The server is remote (Streamable HTTP), with no sign-in, at the address above. Its eight tools only read and calculate: build_layette_list, search_city_climate, diaper_calculator, clothes_by_temperature, size_converter, hospital_bag_checklist, baby_shower_diaper_split and printable_list_link. Programs that call the server directly, outside the assistants, get a usage limit per IP address, counted only in the server's memory.

What you can ask

Write the way you would talk to a person. A few examples:

  • "Build a baby essentials list for Chicago, IL. Our baby is due in January."
  • "What is the weather like in Houston, month by month, for a newborn?"
  • "How many diapers of each size should we have at home before the baby comes?"
  • "How big is a Carter's NB, and how long do babies usually wear it?"
  • "What should I pack in the hospital bag for the baby?"

If the assistant does not use Cotokim, ask for it by name: "Use Cotokim to...".

What it uses and what it never stores

  • For the list, the assistant sends us only your city and the month and year your baby is due, never the exact due date or any name. For the other tools, only what each one asks for, such as the room temperature, the number of babies, or your baby's age, weight and length.
  • The answer is calculated on the spot, and nothing is stored. We only count how many times each tool is used per day and per assistant, without knowing who used it.
  • The connector needs no account or sign-in, and nothing from your Cotokim account goes to the assistant.
  • If you open the printable list link, the site notes which assistant and which tool the visit came from, as it does for any tagged link.
  • What you say to the assistant is covered by the privacy policy of the company that makes it: OpenAI for ChatGPT and Anthropic for Claude.

Details are in our Privacy Policy and our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

Countries and coverage

CountryCities coveredWhat the list usesAnswers
United States100 citiescity, due month and yearin US English or US Spanish, in °F, pounds and inches
Brazilall 5,571 municipalitiescity, due month and yearin Brazilian Portuguese, with Brazilian sizes
Mexico48 citiescity onlyin Mexican Spanish, in °C
  • In Mexico, Cotokim uses only the city: never the due month or year, and never the number of babies. The list comes as a table of the twelve birth months, and the assistant finds the month you care about. The weather always comes for all twelve months, diapers are counted for one baby, and the printable list opens with the city, so you pick the month on the page.
  • Splitting diaper packs among baby shower guests is only available for Brazil. In the United States and Mexico, the diaper calculator tells you how many of each size to have.
  • Each tool answers in the language and units of the city's country, and your assistant talks with you in the language of your chat. In the United States, Spanish speakers get the answers in US Spanish.

When something goes wrong

Cotokim can't find the city, or finds more than one

Add the state, like "Chicago, IL". When more than one city has that name, Cotokim lists the options: just say which one. If the city is in another country, add the country, like "Curitiba, Brazil" or "Monterrey, Mexico".

Your city isn't covered

Cotokim only has data for the United States, Brazil and Mexico. In the United States it covers 100 cities, and in Mexico, 48: if yours is not one of them, add the state, and Cotokim lists the cities it has there so you can use the closest one.

The due month is missing for Mexico

That is on purpose: in Mexico, Cotokim uses only the city. If the assistant sends the month, the year or the number of babies, they are not used. The list has all twelve birth months: find your baby's in the table.

"Which country is this for?"

Say the country: the United States, Brazil or Mexico. Without a city, the calculators need it to use the sizes and units of your country.

"Too many calls in a short time"

Wait a minute and try again. If the message says the tool reached its usage limit for today, try again tomorrow. If it says the service is under maintenance, try again later.

"That month doesn't look like a possible due date"

Check the year. The due month and year have to work for a pregnancy today: from about two months ago to about ten months from now. If you leave the year out, Cotokim uses the year in which that month falls in that window.

The assistant answered without Cotokim

Ask for it by name, like "Use Cotokim to build the baby essentials list for Chicago". Also check that the connector is turned on in this chat, in the assistant's tools or connectors menu. For health, weather forecasts, adult clothing and shopping, the assistant answers without Cotokim on purpose: see what Cotokim does not do, below.

Still stuck?

Write to contato@cotokim.com and tell us what you asked, in which assistant, and what you saw.

What Cotokim does not do

The amounts are for planning and are not medical advice. The tools are not for a sick baby or any health question (fever, medicine, symptoms), weather forecasts, adult clothing or shopping advice such as brands or stores: Cotokim has none of that, and the assistant answers those requests without it. The weather is a long-term average for planning, not a forecast. If you have a question about your baby's health, talk to the health care team that looks after you and your baby.
